We host a wide variety of firearms training for individuals and groups that want to become more proficient with their gun handling and marksmanship. These courses range from helping someone overcome their fear of firearms to mentoring serious shooters achieve their goals.
Whether it is tactical training, shooting sports or marksmanship fundamentals, our goal is to provide our local shooting community with a broad range of opportunities to achieve your training goals.

In order to obtain a concealed carry permit in the State of Florida, the applicant must provide individual training documentation to the Division of Licensing from a certified instructor as defined in Florida statutes. This course provided by a licensed instructor employed by Homestead Training Center, will fulfill the state requirement. Additionally, this course will provide instructional range time for the novice firearm owner, as well as provide a refresher course for the more experienced individual.

REQUIREMENTS: NO PRE-REQUISITE TRAINING COURSES REQUIRED


Materials Required to participate:

  • Concealed Carry Holster
  • Belt
  • Your Firearm (Encased)
  • Minimum of 1 magazine (ADDITIONAL MAGAZINES RECOMMENDED)
  • 200 Rounds of Ammunition.
  • Eye Protection
  • Ear Protection

During Level Two training, the student will continue to build on skills learned from Level One through hands-on review with re-familiarization of skills on the range through use of defensive position/barricade shooting, rotating targets, introduction to stress conditions, moving laterally and diagonally, shooting and moving from a seated position, one-hand reloading drills. Additional subject areas are; effective communication, negotiating obstacles, close proximity drills, engaging from prone positions, and multiple target acquisition through a variety of drills designed to enhance marksmanship.

**Participant should expect light-moderate physical exertion.**


REQUIREMENTS: DEFENSIVE TACTICAL PISTOL 1 OR INSTRUCTOR APPROVAL


Materials Required to participate:

  • Concealed Carry Holster [Leg holsters or hip holsters may be utilized if allowable in your occupation, otherwise, the course is from concealed carry]
  • Mag Pouch
  • Your Firearm
  • Minimum 3 of magazines (ADDITIONAL MAGAZINES RECOMMENDED)
  • 300 Rounds of Ammunition.
  • Eye Protection
  • Ear Protection



This is where you put it all together.  During Level Three training, the student will continue to build on skills learned from Level One and Two.   The course is built to test your knowledge and abilities through use of multiple movements and defensive position shooting, to include use of vehicles.

**Participant should expect light-moderate physical exertion.**


REQUIREMENTS: DEFENSIVE TACTICAL PISTOL 2 OR INSTRUCTOR APPROVAL

  • Concealed Carry Holster [Leg holsters or hip holsters may be utilized if allowable in your occupation, otherwise, the course is from concealed carry]
  • Mag Pouch
  • Your Firearm
  • Minimum 3 of magazines (ADDITIONAL MAGAZINES RECOMMENDED)
  • 300 Rounds of Ammunition.
  • Eye Protection
  • Ear Protection


This course is designed to introduce the student to the modernized carbine, focusing on the proper carbine shooting core fundamentals. While, covering accuracy, proper weapon manipulation, and gear selection.

Defensive Tactical Carbine II is designed for the basic home defense carbine and is intended for those who have taken Defensive Tactical Carbine I and are looking to go beyond the fundamentals of shooting a modernized carbine.

REQUIREMENTS: DEFENSIVE TACTICAL CARBINE 1 OR INSTRUCTOR APPROVAL

  • Minimum 3 of magazines (ADDITIONAL MAGAZINES RECOMMENDED)
  • 300 Rounds of Ammunition.
  • Eye Protection
  • Ear Protection



The course is designed to introduce the student to the fundamentals of the modern shotgun. This course will demonstrate the potential of the shotgun as a defensive and offensive weapon as applied in a critical incident, being the most powerful and versatile firearm in one’s arsenal.

REQUIREMENTS: NO PRE-REQUISITE TRAINING COURSES REQUIRED

  • Your Firearm
  • 150 ROUNDS: BIRDSHOT #7 1/2 OR #8
  • 20 ROUNDS: 00 BUCKSHOT
  • 10 ROUNDS: SLUG
  • Eye Protection
  • Ear Protection



This course will aid and reinforce your shooting fundamentals and skills. NRA Women On Target Instructional Shooting Clinic

NRA Women On Target Clinics are a safe and friendly environment whether you’re picking up a gun for the very first time or are just brushing off some dust and need a little refresher. You’ll immediately feel at ease in our half-day clinics, and will be provided with a hands-on, one-of-a-kind experience.

No experience or equipment is necessary to participate. 


What to expect in our clinic:

Just bring yourself in range appropriate clothing, we will cover the rest. If you prefer to bring your own firearm, eye/ear protection or ammunition, feel free.
  • 08:00 - 09:00     Sign In/Registration
  • 09:00 - 10:00     Classroom Instruction
  • 10:00 - 12:00      Range Time
  • 12:00 - 01:00      Lunch

Pre-Registration of $25 or Registration fee of $60 is required. If pre-registering $25, $35 remainder must be paid upon arrival at clinic.


This course is strictly for the Legally Armed Citizen and will introduce the student to different methods of use of the modern pistol in a Low Light conditions for home and personal defense. The student will learn how the proper use of a firearm and flashlight or weapon light, in a low light condition.

Once having completed this course you will possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. This course consists of Range Safety Officer’s roles and responsibilities, range standard operating procedures, range inspection and range rules, firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and Range Safety Briefings which include emergency procedures.
